How many of us can relate to the frustration of spelling one little word wrong in our Facebook status that makes the world of difference? We can all smile a little bigger now because Facebook is adding the ability to edit posts!

This may seem like a  subtle change but how many times do we see a misused word used in a business’ post or a misspelled work in a friend’s comment? Rather than deleting the entire post and starting over, users will now be able to adjust such words with the click of a button. The upper right arrow, that gives every option except editing, will now offer the option. This feature has been long awaited yet quite the news for users.

Is it really that crucial though? I mean, who cares if someone uses “your” when they should have used “you’re?” But then again, how many of us call out those mistake? The credibility of businesses depends on the details. While we are all human and make mistakes, if a business leaves their error posted they seem ignorant to the details so in turn, the consumer may think what other mistakes have been made? If there has already been conversation stirred with comments, it would not look too good for a company to discard the post altogether either. The ability to edit comments allows a user to make an immediate correction, saving their credibility and showing their ability to correct errors sooner than later.

The update has already been made available to web users as well as Android users. For you iOs users, stay tuned because you’ll be next to receive the update!
