Pinterest is taking the world by storm. Most of us have seen the the massive influx of posts from our friends on Facebook “Sam Jones posted That’s funny and 138 others to Pinteret.” Because of this new Pinterest obsession, internet marketers have been trying to figure out how to jump in and use Pinterest to their advantage.
As an avid Pinner, I have seen a few marketers stand out over the others. Starbucks in particular. If you’re on Pinterest (i.e. any female in America right now) you’ve seen one, or all of these pictures pop up as you are exploring new Pins.
Some Lessons We Can Take From Starbucks:
Well to start off they have shown us how they can add their logo to just about anything and appeal to their customers and coffee lovers. The picture on the bottom with the girl in the hat drinking out of the Starbucks cup… a lot of people will Repin this picture or Like it, not necessarily because of the Starbucks sup but because the girl is wearing a cute hat. The same goes for the Starbucks store presented on the top right corner. Now that’s a pretty cool looking store, and it could be just about any type of store, not just Starbucks. Again, provoking Repins and Likes. The last picture I would like everyone to take a lesson from is the picture third from the left on the top. People just can’t seem to get enough of the “Keep Calm and….” pictures. As a social media marketer, I only see this as an opportunity to get your brand out there. For example, I’m about to add this picture to Pinterest to throw Posse Social Media in the mix.
So to sum it up. There are many things we can learn from how Starbucks (and many others) are using Pinterest to get their name out there. Figuring out how your company logo or name could be placed in a picture that would appeal to Pinterest users is definitely step one. Good luck to all of us marketers! KEEP CALM & PIN ON.
